What Qualifies as Domestic Violence?

In Florida, domestic violence happens when a household or family member is struck or touched without his or her consent with the intention of causing bodily harm. A family or household member can include the following:

To meet the state’s definition of domestic violence, the abuser and the abused must either live in the same home or have resided in the same home in the past.
